I Am Working Even When You Don’t Feel It — The Truth About Faith in the Silence

God says: I act even when you don’t feel.

You’re used to the idea that faith is a feeling. That if you feel God, it means He exists. And if you don’t feel Him, it means He is far away, silent, or not there at all.

But God has not abandoned you. This feeling of yours has gone. And He remains.

He acts in silence. In the emptiness. In the dry earth of your heart. Like the root of a tree growing in winter—invisibly, without leaves, without fruit. But spring will come not because the tree sensed warmth. But because the root has been working all this time.

You are like this tree. You don’t feel it now. But God is working deep within you. He prepares you for what you don’t yet see. He changes your desires, fears, attachments. Invisibly. Without your knowledge.

Your job is not to understand HOW He works. Your job is to know THAT He works.

Don’t run away in search of sensations. Don’t seek God in emotions. Seek Him in the faith that says: “I don’t see, but I know. I don’t feel, but I believe. You are here. And You will not abandon me.”

And in this faith lies the deepest encounter. Not in experience. In trust. When you believe that He exists, even when everything says otherwise, you touch Him more deeply than in ecstasy.

This is Orthodoxy without illusions. This is Christianity without emotional dependence. The Bible is full of examples: David cries out, “God, why have you forsaken me?” - and in this cry there is already faith. Jesus Christ didn’t feel the Father in Gethsemane— but he trusted Him completely. This is true faith. This is love that holds, even when nothing is visible.
