You are not a slave to the world — you are a sheep of God’s flock
Are you a slave or a sheep? You are not a slave to the world, but a free son or daughter. You are a sheep of God’s flock because you know His voice and follow Him. Freedom and belonging are like two wings of the same bird.
Gospel of the Kingdom
You ask yourself: are you a slave or a sheep?
The world has told you you are not a slave to men, and that’s true. The Church has told you you are a slave to God, and that’s also true. This is not a contradiction, but a mystery.
You are a slave because you chose to be His. You are a sheep because you know His voice. You are free because you walk not under duress, but by trust.
Slavery to the world is when you are forced. Slavery to God is when you voluntarily surrender yourself into the hands of love.
Being a sheep is not an insult or a sense of helplessness. It is trust. It is the freedom to be led by the Shepherd who leads.
You are not a slave to the world. You are a free son and daughter. But you are a sheep of His flock because you know His voice and follow Him. Freedom and belonging are like two wings of the same bird. Choice and trust. Strength and humility. You are free and His because you chose to be His, and in this choice lies your greatest freedom.
