When giving in is a sign of strength, not weakness
There are moments in a relationship when each person can insist on their own way — argue, prove, defend. But there is another path: to yield not out of fear, but out of freedom. This is precisely that kind of yielding, the kind born not from defeat but from a conscious choice of love and peace.
Gospel of the Kingdom
Many conflicts arise from the desire to prove a point. But yielding can be not a defeat, a conscious act that changes the very atmosphere between two people. In the Christian tradition this is close to what is called self-sacrifice — the image of love that does not seek to conquer, but opens the possibility of transformation. Sometimes the one who stops an argument and says “let there be peace” becomes the bridge that helps another person emerge from inner darkness.
